Setting up the GroupWise junk mail filter

Once you have signed into GroupWise click “Tools” then “Junk Mail Handling…” This will bring up the junk mail handling configuration window.

Under the settings tab you want to click the box next to

• “Enable Junk List”
• “Enable Junk Mail using personal address books”
• “Automatically delete items from the Junk Mail Folder”
• “Enable Block List.”

Click Apply

Click the “Trust List” tab, and then click “New”

Next type @highlandschools.org without the quotes in the “New Address or Domain” box that opens up. Click Okay.

You will be back to the “Junk Mail Handling screen”. Click “Apply” then “Okay”.

You will now have a “Junk Mail” folder in your folder view.

Remember no Spam filter is perfect. Some “good” emails will get put in the junk mail filter and some “bad” emails will end up in your mailbox. Remember, the more non-highland or LEECA stuff you use your email for, the more Spam you will get. That includes any list servs you on, and any other programs that ask for your email (such as weatherbug, screensavers, freeware, etc...).
